Young Mary, the mother of Jesus knew that a sword would pierce her soul, because she would become the mother of the Messiah. Luke 2:35
Surely one moment was when she fled from Bethlehem to Egypt to save her babe from Herod’s sword. The baby boys of her friends were murdered. I write of her, fictionalized, but historically accurate in Not Alone.
Weep with me as I hear of the murder of my friends infant boys, all because King Herod wants my son dead. I feel as if a sword is piercing my soul! I remember prophecy about my babe. Extreme joy mingled with terror. What next, Lord? My name is Mary.
Mary experienced tragedies a plenty, widowed, her son crucified. Yet she knew He rose again. That’s all we need to know.
